For a company with such a large product range (polka dot socks to Sophia Webster collaboration shoes), it may come as a bit of a surprise to find out that J.Crew has only recently launched a premium denim line. Though the mega-retailer carries Goldsign and a few other cult labels, they’ve never gotten their hands dirty handcrafting the perfect pair of American-made jeans. Until now that is. Cue Point Sur, J.Crew’s own label of premium ringspun cotton from Japan and the US, and is made locally in Los Angeles. The first offering for women is small, just six styles, five of which are a loose boyfriend jean. The only pair of skinnies is so soft and stretchy (but not quite a jegging fortunately) that it almost feels like a miracle. With summer fast approaching, opt for a pair of the white Slim Stacker Selvedge Jean or the X-Rocker Boyfriend Jean for a more relaxed post-beach outfit. Or if denim is an option at the office, pair with a crisp white button down and suede heels for a look that Jenna Lyons would certainly stamp with approval.
