No party is more of an amalgamation of the pretty young things of art and fashion than the annual spring Whitney Art Party hosted by the Whitney contemporaries and sponsored for the second year in a row by Max Mara; and with couple, DJ Hannah Bronfman and DJ/Producer Brendan Fallis on decks this year, you may as well throw in the PYTs of music as well.
Event Hosts Zoe Saldana, Maria Giulia Maramotti and Alice Pratt Brown hold court among gorgeous committee members and guests, like Patrick McGregor, Leandra Medine, Harley Viera Newton, Emily Ratajkowski, Zani Gubelman, Athena Calderone, Giovanna Battaglia, Dree Hemmingway, Anabelle Dexter-Jones, Wes Gordon and Emmy Rossum.
It seems to be the night that everything is happening, from Ballet Hispanico’s annual Dance into Fashion at the Jane, to Narcisco Rodriquez’s Bottletop Collection launch in Chelsea, but the Whitney Art Party at Highline Stages is where you know you’re ending up. As bids get higher for pieces by contemporary artists such as Dustin Yellin and his painted glass panel sculptures or another favorite of the night, Daniel Arsham’s Glacial Rock Eroded Microphone, Brendan Fallis switches to “Turn Down for What” and the dance floor almost seems to vibrate. That’s the essence of the Whitney Art Party—whether bidding or dancing—go big.
